From the article:
Josef Fritzl, an Austrian man who held his daughter captive in his basement as a sex slave for 24 years, fathering seven of her children, was seen smirking Thursday after a court ruled that he could be transferred from a psychiatric ward to a regular prison.
Dubbed the "monster of Amstetten," Fritzl kidnapped his own 18-year-old daughter, Elisabeth, in 1984 and kept her locked in a sound-proof basement in their Amstetten home.
She was found in 2008 after 24 years of captivity and brutal abuse in the windowless basement. Elisabeth's mother was apparently oblivious to her daughter's captivity in her own home, according to Austrian authorities.

How did the mother not realize it? It's one thing to keep one single person silent but if there were 7 children that means by the end there were 8 people living in this soundproof room? He would have had to be buying all kinds of food, bringing it down, taking out trash and waste. Not to mention the fluids that come along with 7 births. Blankets, bedsheets, etc. How do you hide all that from someone living in the same house?
What are your thoughts about the mother?
