OneNewsNow: Ministry Aiming Gospel Message At North Korea
*looks around* Couldn't figure out where to put this, so I thought this section would be as good as any...North Korea is considered the worst place to be a Christian, which is no easy feat in a world of despots, but a plan is coming together to broadcast the gospel across the entire country.
Far East Broadcasting has acquired property in South Korea to construct a radio tower, and FEB spokesman Wayne Pederson says the ministry sees an opportunity to take the gospel into the reclusive country where its tyrannical leader has openly vowed to stamp out Christianity.
The people of North Korea are taught that Kim Jong-un is a deity so naturally he views Christianity as a threat to the propaganda and to his grip on power.
OneNewsNow has reported the oppressive country ranks as the very worst human rights abuser in the world, and Christians are often imprisoned if their faith is discovered by neighbors and authorities are alerted.
Pederson, meanwhile, says the radio tower location will allow the ministry to “blanket the country of North Korea in a way that's never been possible before.”
North Koreans who hear the broadcast, he says, will hear the voices of locals. “It's citizens and former residents of North Korea that know the language and the culture, and can do this,” he says.
FEB, which is raising money for the project, hopes to be on the air by early next year.
