I agree, Putin had the convincing retorts - absent some convincing evidence to tampering (which would have to be super convincing, given the US track record of manufacturing evidence that turns out to be compete bunkum (911 hijackers, anyone? Buildings falling at freefall speed due to jet fuel? Phantom WMD's that were never found?? just to name but a few...)

But - if you want to feel embarrassed for the US media - may I suggest a "news event" of much higher caliber:

No bickering here, not from my end. I gave a simple gospel msg, and then I said praise the Lord! It's a christian chat site, right?
Praising the Lord is a good way to get past the depression and mockery of the media and the President of the United States and the nattering nabobs of negativity. ::
When someone is overly-focussed on the woes of the world , politics, media, etc., Well...Jesus died for our sins and is risen indeed and He's coming again! He's still on His throne of God and is Sovereign over the affairs of men. He loves us with an everlasting love and all those political troubles will be resolved when every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. He IS King of kings and Lord of lords, so praise the Lord! No bickering necessary.

You're right, there is no bickering necessary. Sometimes things are more amusing to me than looking at world events as merely "nattering nabobs of negativity". It interests me in that, whether left or right leaning, the U.S. is going to heck in a hand-basket, and the press right along with it. Although I don't agree with the politics of Russia, I have to admit some admiration for the way Putin conducts himself. He is very matter-of-fact, is confident, does not pull any punches, and is consistent in what he says.
So, some of these things are of interest to me and (maybe) others. Surely, we need to live with the 'end goal' in sight - eternal life with Christ. But as it is, while we are in this world, the things that are happening affect us, and we will have varied opinions. Sometimes differing ones.
