Later this year Google (GOOG, GOOGL), through its Chrome browser, will end the use of third-party cookies, technology that can track people across websites to target them with personalized advertising. The transition won't come without pain.

I have enough ad/tracking blockers installed on Chrome to choke a horse. I don't see ads on websites, and I like it that way.

Your thoughts about this Chrome change?

In theory it's good. In practise I wonder if it will just create another pay model where instead of using cookies the companies have to pay Google to get at the same data.

I'm finding more and more sites won't work with ad-blockers enabled. So it's always a question of whether to disable the ad-blocker for that particular site. Unless it's an article I really want to read the answer is usually no.
