Having earned the somewhat dubious distinction of having inadvertently locked a thread twice now, I got to make the public statement regarding locked threads here.
If staff here lock a thread intentionally we will post in the thread to state it's locked. If a thread is locked and doesn't have a post saying it's being locked, chances are it's a result of someone having fat fingers (and, based on past performance, the odds are better than average it was me....). If you see a locked thread that doesn't have a post saying it's being locked, please flag it so we can get it unlocked as soon as possible. The best way to do that is to report a post in the thread and use the note field to say the thread shouldn't be locked.
I worked out what I fumbled that accidentally locked the threads so hopefully it won't be a regular occurrence but if you do see one please let us know!
