No I wouldn't. That is just dumb. Leaving the good old USA cause they banned Internet. People need to remember when there was a time when there was no Internet.

There are other ways of staying connected to people besides the internet. Maybe we think we can't live without it, but with the right circumstances I would have no problem staying.

There was a time not so long ago when there was no internet, even the tv is not that old and people seemed to connect a lot better back then

In many ways we'd become socially more impoverished without the information available on the internet, but in many other ways we'd become socially enriched. Think of the advantages - the world of internet pornography would be gone at a stroke. The times we see groups of people sitting around a table having dinner but not talking to each other because they are all fiddling on their phones would stop. In my teenage years if someone in my social circle did something stupid our friends would mock us about it for a few days and then it would be forgotten but now it's recorded and posted on YouTube or Faceache, only to mysteriously resurface years later when it can trash a job application. All that would be swept away.

The internet is great for keeping in contact but we can always pick up the phone instead. Or we can put literal pen to literal paper and write someone a letter.

I don't know. Part of me is happy to live a simpler life with God at the center with less distractions -- but still, there's a lot of good that can come from and be done on or through the internet.

That's true. If the country banned the internet would you rally to bring it back?

Personally I would like the vacation away but my friends online I would miss. I might have to go to their countries for sanctuary.

I remember life without internet and a lot of times I felt isolated from my friends when I couldn't reach them by phone...landline. With internet that isolation feeling doesn't automatically go away when a friend chooses to ignore you. :(

Part of me thinks I could but part of research is inseparable from the internet now because there are just so many resources available.

I work in engineering so it is especially beneficial to me as so many engineering reference books and materials are so expensive, it's really nice to just search for it online and find perhaps the one paragraph I'd need in a $200 book.

I could adjust. In some ways I think banning it would herald something of a return to a certain dark era in many ways - the freedom and variety of information, opinions and media the internet has made available has brought the world some very good things. And some not so good, of course.

Personally, I know I'd get a lot more done.
