Kayla Gowdy: Dems' 10 biggest lies in Trump's Senate impeachment trial

Lie: This impeachment process began after an anonymous whistleblower filed a complaint through the proper channels within the Office of the Inspector General.
Fact: An article published on Oct 2, 2019, by the New York Times proved Schiff received an early account of the whistleblower’s complaint despite his persistent denial. This gave Democrats time to come up with an impeachment plan before any information was released to the public.

Lie: Democrats began the impeachment hearings out of concern for the country and the Constitution.
Fact: Time and time again Democrats have gone on the record proving their motivations for impeachment to be political.
Rep. Al Green, D-Texas: "I'm concerned if we don't impeach this President, he will get reelected.”

Lie: President Trump during a phone call with Ukranian President Zelensky asked for a personal favor.
Fact: Despite consistent false statements from Democratic Congressmen and members of the media, the released transcript of the call proved President Trump said, “I want you to do us a favor.” The “us” refers to America, not his political campaign.

Lie: President Trump’s unprecedented withholding of aid endangered the United States and Ukraine.
Fact: Not only did Ukraine receive its aid on time and in its entirety, but President Trump actually resumed granting foreign aid after President Obama ended the practice.

My thoughts.... (as one who did not vote for Trump in 2016 and likely won't in 2020)


1. It is OBVIOUS many Libs (and their allies) have a passionate, intense, personal HATRED of Donald Trump...and harbor a great resentment that he beat Hillary in 2016. Since the day after the election, they have been obsessed with undoing that election and getting rid of Donald Trump.


2. It's largely immobilized them for over 3 years. The Dems have done virtually nothing. Just TRYING to come up with some way to undo the 2016 election and get rid of Trump.... but nothing had any substance. Finally, they ran out of time and had to "go" with this phone conversation. They grab it - decided to impeach him over it - before they even knew what was said in that phone conversation (IMO, proving facts were irrelevant). But they were out of time..... the election would be here! They either needed to give up or run with THIS.


3. Polosi herself said impreachment MUST have clear substance and be Bi-partison. But the hearings proved NOTHING..... and the vote was right down party lines (except for a few Democrats). It was a SHAM. Pure politics. Pure bitter-grapes. Nothing of substance.... not ONE Republicans (and not even all Democrats) bought it. And not one law was ever noted as being violated (much less that doing so is a "high crime"). They rested their case - FINISHED!!! And EVENTUALLY were forced to bring their case to the Senate, something the Libs OBVIOUSLY didn't want to do, because they had nothing.


4, Once forced to present their case in the Senate, they used LOTS of words to cover a lack of anything. BUT MAYBE.... if they could stall.... if they could call witnesses they chose not to call before.... maybe, just maybe, if they HOPE hard enough..... something MIGHT come to light. Maybe. But it seems that ploy is going to fall today.


Disgusting. EXACTLY what is wrong in Washington, PROOF of the "swamp" Trump talks about. But worse.... because they gets to the very heart of Democracy. If the party of the Congress doesn't like the choice for president, they can just overturn it - PURELY on party lines. IF this won (and it would have if the Senate was controlled by the Democrats) we Americans could kiss Democracy good-bye.
