To the people who have keyboard clicking sounds on their phone, what's your reasoning for not turning it off?

I really wish default settings were to turn it off. I lost count of the number of times I was slowly driven insane by people with things like Faceache messenger constantly beeping, as if it were designed for people with the attention span of a goldfish. Send a message - beep. Person reads it - beep. Person starts typing - endless clicking. They hit send - beep. Reply - beep. On and on and on. My wife uses Messenger quite a lot and when I got so annoyed with it I told her to either turn the sounds off or go somewhere else with it it took an age to actually find the setting to turn it off.

Sometimes it seems as if mobile developers and mobile app developers have a primary goal of annoying everyone around the user and a secondary goal of providing some kind of functionality to the user

I have it on with my business phone as it's tied into the notices for new messages. I have it turned down though, just loud enough for me to hear it, but not be a disturbance. When I'm in our work office, though, and everyone has their work phones, none of them go off at the same time with a communal message so there's a chain reaction of "ding, ding, bling, doopedy-doop, chime, ding..." --___--
