The gospel of John seems to stress throughout John's writing that Jesus is life and light. Some references start as early as the first chapter in John 1 such as
4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
References to light are found throughout this gospel including in John 8:12, 9:5 and 11:9 also in John 12 Jesus says this
5 So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.”
I am assuming light has to do with Jesus' purity and divinity but also how his presence and words drive out darkness or evil. What other implications are there?
