Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

This verse declares we have forgiveness for ALL sin, not as some say, only for sins we confess, and repent of.

There is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit as Jesus said.

(Matthew 12:31)

Yes, it was because of Jesus' death on the cross that all sins are forgiven and this is called Objective Justification. To not believe in that (no faith) damns oneself. But in order to receive what Jesus' earned we refer to what is called Subjective Justification and that is that God gives us faith to believe so we can have eternal life. He does this by His Word and with the aid of the Holy Spirit. We are accused by the Law of our sins but then the Holy Spirit doesn't leave us grieving. He gives us the Good News that we are forgiven and we turn to God in faith.

For subjective justification to be true then there has to be an objective justification...that Jesus died for all of your sins. Not just some. Not just some that you confess and repent for.

No where in the epistles of Paul do we find this.
Jesus said this to Israel and warned them in rejecting the Holy Spirit which was promised them in the new covenant they could not be fruitful and would not enter the kingdom on earth (Ezekiel 36:24-28 Matthew 12:33)

"Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the [age] to come.
  • [NIV] And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
  • [NLT] "So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven--except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. • [KJV] Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.

People can say that but it is also how God looks inside our lives to see if we really mean it. And back it up with our words our actions.

If you take that verse then you know that your sins are forgiven. Objectively it's done without you. Subjectively God has given you faith to believe it. Those without faith damn themselves and don't receive that forgiveness.

You don't have to do anything to receive salvation which is a free gift from God. It's by HIS grace, not by your works.
