In the summertime we usually set the air conditioning to 70 although we'll sometimes raise it a couple of degrees. In the winter time we usually set the heat to 65.
I really struggle with the apparently very common mentality that it needs to be "warm" inside in the winter time - it really isn't pleasant going from maybe 15 degrees outside straight into someone's home when they have the heat set to 78 or something.
