Important doctrines.

We all share a common heritage even though we are divided into various churches and denominations yet some doctrines are important to us and to our identity as Christians so what doctrines are important?

I'll kick things off with a few
The Fatherhood of God - as our Father God loves us and knows us completely so his actions towards us are worthy of our trust because as a loving Father he has our best interests at heart and acts always for our good.

The eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ - as our Lord and saviour Jesus is the Son of God and yet he was Son of God before his incarnation and always has been as well as always will be the Son of God and now he is our brother. This is important for understanding God's identity.

Jesus is God manifest in the flesh - God himself became a man, one of us, he was born and was helpless in his infancy grew into manhood and died when crucified (unjustly). In all this Jesus humanity was evident and at the same time his deity - though veiled in humanity - was also his identity so that Jesus is both a man and God Almighty.

The eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ - as our Lord and saviour Jesus is the Son of God and yet he was Son of God before his incarnation and always has been as well as always will be the Son of God and now he is our brother. This is important for understanding God's identity.

he was in the father
by him all things were made because god made everything by speaking and his word -became flesh .
did he not then "become the son when he was born forth as flesh "? when he was begotten ?

he came forth from the father and returned to the father from whence he came and is now eternally the son AND still eternally the word

try not to assume anyone is jumping on your pet cat and run to defend it ..just discuss it

IMO, no doctrine is more important than Sola Gratia - Solus Christus - Sola Fide (the correct doctrine for justification in the narrow sense). Without this, Christianity entirely collapses. All Christianity is Christocentric and is founded on the teaching that Jesus is the Savior, Jesus does the saving - we are not, we do not. Jesus is NOT the "helper" or "possibility maker" or "example to follow" - He is the SAVIOR.

IMO, what Jesus DID is inseparable from who He is..... He is - above all - The SAVIOR. IMO, the Gospel does take priority to the metaphysics of the Doctrine of Christ. IMO, it doesn't matter if one holds to the Two Natures of Christ if Christ is not the Savior but perhaps just a helper or possibility maker or part Savior, when the actual reason self enters heaven is because of what self did rather than wholly because of the life, death and resurrection of the Savior. Strip Christianity of Jesus as the Savior - and Christianity collapses - no other teaching matters.

Is the eternal sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ not important in your theology?

do you always do this ? i said lets discuss the topic ,so you change it to discussing whether its important to me or not . that is a different topic .

i think i have come to a forum that seems to be run by two bullying parties one Lutheran and one roman catholic that are both so closed in their minds and locked into their denominational stance they have lost grip on the reality of Knowing Jesus . tel me do any of you Actually do anything in the way of walking in the steps of the lord Jesus whom we follow .
for instance do you lay hands on and heal the sick ?, preach the gospel of repentance baptism ,forgiveness and holy Spirit ? drive out devils and set people free from oppression and addictions and see their lives get utterly transformed ? or is this a club of those who do not bridal their tongue but speak forever about religious issues like a doctrinal diarrhea but whose religion is vain empty jangling . forever hearing the word but never Doing it ? your faith is not in Christ IF that is the case or in his words (if it were you would act on his words ) your faith appears to be in your denominations so you act on their words instead and ,do nothing .

Okay, I will rephrase my question. Is the eternal sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ important in Christian theology?
