I will answer first by saying that I have never been so free and happy in my relationship with the Lord since I first heard the doctrine of Limited Atonement. It tells me that Christ paid for my sins on the cross and that is why I believe. I could not believe in any true sense had he not.
I was so burnt out after churches taught me I must save myself by doing Christian things. And I'll go to hell if I don't. I always feared I hadn't done enough to keep saved. It drove me to do all of those things, not in love for others, but to keep from going to hell.
It was such a relief to abandon salvation by works and to quit trying to believe. Realizing that I really do believe even if I try to doubt.
