Did you do good in high school? Were you one of the cool kids or a loner?

What’s your proudest accomplishment from high school?

I was shy and quiet, but my best friends were wild girls! LOL I guess we balanced one another out. I was in a lot of the accelerated classes but never was one of the popular kids, even though I had a lot of friends.

I received a lot of art awards in high school.

What’s your proudest accomplishment from high school?

I wasn't a good student but hung with birds of a similar feather. I experienced a miracle though. All of my records from day one that would have kept me out of college were accidentally destroyed. The straight-A honor student had the same records I had, Zilch.

It was customary then to duck into college to get a Vietnam war Draft deferment. But now, because of that mistake, it was no longer off the table. I enrolled in college, got a deferment, and was elected class president in my sophomore year. All made possible by some clumsy janitors, who in God's providence, burnt up the records of the graduating class that year.

I hardly remember high school. I remember going to the beach at lunchtime, drinking too much and then getting kicked out of afternoon classes as a regular occurrence. I'm lucky I graduated without ever getting expelled, which is my "proudest" moment. It was only recently that I learned why, too.

I had a circle of friends. There were the jocks, the studious, the nerds, and the partiers, which were further broken down into the alkies, the potheads, and the junkies. I was an alkie but experimented with other stuff. Kept going back to drinking, though. I was such a happy little drunk and according to my friends, had a pretty good time.

I'm SO glad I grew up a few years later!

I was a pretty good student, getting mostly As (except in the subjects that bored me, although I still got As in some of those). Which was probably just as well, because some of the stunts we got up to back in the day would probably get us branded terrorists these days.

Somewhere in between, I had my group of friends but we weren't the cool kids.

Graduating, duh!
