What's the intended hermeneutic in the new testament letters and in the gospels? Is it to teach history and as a byproduct of the history to teach doctrinal and practical truth or is the hermeneutic pastoral with the purpose of strengthening faith, leading the wavering back to faith, safeguarding doctrine against corruptions, and keeping the faithful on the path that leads to eternal life and as a byproduct teaching some of the history of the events of Christ's life and the implications of those events?
