Just wanted to drop by and introduce myself. I'm from Michigan and have been a Christian since the age of 6. I went to a Christian high school and college. Many of you may remember me from another Christian site. I moderated there from 2004-2006 and came back for a brief stint in 2013-14. Most of my working life was in customer service, but I have been unemployed for the last 22 months. It has been a time where God has been testing my patience and making me be real with myself.
I am currently without a church at the moment. My faith in Jesus remains strong. I just see a few things wrong with some Christian churches in my eyes.
I am bi and came out to my friends and family last year. I was living in denial for many years about it, and God was showing me to be honest about it. It was literally tearing me up inside. Despite being more attracted to guys than women, I still believe in monogamy. I realize many people here will not agree with me, but I do ask to be respected. I have searched the Bible as well as the Greek in the NT and am totally at peace with being bi. Many people from my old church have cut off all communication with me. I refuse to abandon my Christianity because God is still on the throne, and some people are marginalized by the church. But Jesus was in the corner of those in the margins, and He is enough for me. All I ask for is respect as a believer though we may disagree. You may be surprised that I am not as liberal as you may think I would be.
