Hey, how are you all doing? As my handle implies, I am a Confessional Lutheran, part of a congregation that's part of the Southeastern District of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. I'm a convert, having joined up in 2013 by a reaffirmation of faith when I was living in Jacksonville, FL and attending what was ( at the time) a mission church. I was born in Fairfax County, VA, in 1973 and was raised as a Southern Baptist. In 1995, I was confirmed in the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil. After a few years of wandering, I studied Confessional Lutheranism and as a result of prayer, my wife ( at the time) and I walked through the doors of Hope Lutheran Church and a couple of months later, we took a weekly class under the pastor in Jacksonville and were received in February of 2013.
My failed marriage was a very valuable lesson ( I hope to both myself and my ex- wife) to not put personal desires and make life choices without involving God. My family lives in Northern Virginia and I was invited to return. So I did. The job opportunities here are pretty decent, better at least than what I saw in my time in Florida ( about three years) and I'm currently employed, although I'm taking steps to improve my opportunities in the job market. God bless you all!
