Andy Stanley, the son of Charles Stanley has a sermon series called Guardrails. In his first message he talks about how guardrails are meant to direct and protect us. They are there to prevent us from experiencing something worse. He points to some verses in Ephesians 5:15-18 that tells us to live wise in this present age since the days are evil. Anyway in law and gosple the law acts as gurdrails/bumpers and when utilized will keep you out of self induced troubles.

One of the big ones is lust. Don't even let it get initiated. Once started grows like a weed.
