The new Google will have an option to check so that your message can't be forwarded, printed or copied and pasted so you feel protected...but that doesn't stop anyone from taking a photo of the email LOL Oh dear.

Well, since Google tracks about everything that's done on one of its platforms (and even things that aren't) I wouldn't trust that any of it would be safe. Most likely, they'd be tracking who uses what features to make things "bigger and better" in the future, and still try to sell us the line about data belonging to the user. In fact, in the 'fine print' that some skip over in user agreements, there's usually a statement about what's shared on a platform now belongs to that platform and not the user (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, etc.). Not all of it's bad, though. Some of the tools are helpful like "robots" that Google will send out to monitor (or "crawl") internet sites to monitor traffic and 'keywords' at that site. The more traffic, the higher a site (like CH! ) could appear on search engines.

Talking of "being protected" is all well and good but the simple reality is that as soon as something is sent to someone else that someone else has access to it. As you say they may take a screen capture and print that, or take a photo of the screen, even if they can't subvert the restriction on printing. With the availability of OCR technology the chances are they could reconstitute the text from a picture anyway.

Ultimately the only way to make sure data remains totally secure is not to share it with anyone. Hence the saying that three can keep a secret, as long as two of them are dead.
