Why?

Because there is an eclectic group of enemies who are "magically protected" which means they can only be killed after their country has been defeated, invaded, and conquered.

I disagree.
Revelation is highly symbolic and a “sword” coming out of the mouth of the LORD is more likely a reference to the Word of God.

God created the universe by speaking it into existence (Genesis 1) and this was done by the WORD, Jesus Christ (John 1) so it is not inconceivable for the WORD MADE FLESH to speak the enemies of GOD into defeat with the “sword” of His Words.
