What future technology do you want to see during your lifetime?

Teleport chambers. It would be great to see the world without having to spend hours either driving or flying.

Teleportation will always be physically impossible in this life.

What I'd like to see are faster advancements in medical technology, such as micro-devices to investigate the human body and treat it. I think it's quite outrageous that humanity invests so much in wars, space exploration and media, instead of investing in medical research.

The question didn't ask about what scientifically possible technology we wanted to see ;)

Flying cars. I read that someone got a patent for one over the summer so that's exciting.

They've been around, in theory, for some time now. Back in about 2004 you could buy a Moller Skycar, if you had half a million or so kicking around idle. It looked sort of like a car with jet engines on it and I have no idea whether it required a driving license, a pilot's license, or both, to operate it.

In some ways I'd love to see flying cars, not least because it would mean you could take direct routes to places rather than having to follow the sometimes tortuous routes the roads take. That said, given the appalling quality of driving I see when people are stuck in two dimensions I shudder to think what would happen if they could go airborne.

I would like to see holograms for computers and handheld devices, as the picture below shows. I would also like to see flying cars, and then the roads we drive on could be used to plant trees. We'll have to wait and see, time will tell.

Flying cars? Nice in theory but given the standard of driving today I shudder to think what it would look like in three dimensions.
