Conventionally, couples wear the wedding band “closest to their heart”, meaning the wedding band is stacked below the engagement ring on the left ring finger. However, some people like to wear their wedding band on top of their engagement ring as a way to secure it on the finger.

How do you wear your engagement and wedding rings?

I had to stop wearing my actual wedding band set this past summer due to swelling in the knuckles from arthritis. I now wear a simple gold band. But previously, I wore the engagement part on top and the wedding band part was closest to my hand and the reason was because the wedding band part was ever so slightly larger. So it felt better.

My wife wears her wedding ring, eternity ring, engagement ring, in that order. Her wedding ring goes on first.
