Hello CH Community,
First, I want to point out that we have updated the look and functionality of the "CH's Featured Thread" block you see at the top of our home page. We have tried to make it more readable by alternating gray and white for the rows. We have also added a bit of vertical spacing for readability. The "Author" data now has a tooltip (mouse rollover information) that shows when the thread was created.
The top 3 threads, those whose authors will be awarded CH Cash, now get stars to the right of the thread link (and appropriate tooltips), and you will notice when browsing our forums that these threads get the same number of stars. All featured threads get stars in the thread listings, and while the 3rd place thread gets 1 star like the rest of the featured threads, its tooltip indicates it is an award winner. The same applies when you are viewing a thread itself, the award winners will show their extra stars and tooltips.
Threads now have completely dynamic data, such as previews (tooltips showing the first part of the first thread), icons, prefixes, etc. This means if a thread is edited to change any of this, the change will immediately show up in the featured threads list. Previously, this was statically stored in the database, but now it is read from the live thread data.
Nominations are open again, and so please feel free to nominate all those threads you feel deserve to be featured for round 3. Thank you to everyone who has been nominating threads...without these votes this featuring of threads wouldn't be possible. You will notice now that threads who are on the featured threads list are now eligible for nomination for the next round. We felt that a thread should not be ineligible for the next round simply because it is currently featured.
As far as the official announcement of the 3 winners, [unm]Romanos[/unm] will post that information and give out the awards, but let me say now congratulations to the three winners and to everyone whose threads are now featured. You should feel proud that the membership of CH has chosen your threads above all others to be featured and to prominently represent CH to guests visiting our site. Thank you for your valuable contribution here.
