Still the facts are really interesting.

Some interesting facts from the link..

According to one calculation, the number of Americans on food stamps now exceeds the combined populations of Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Only about 7% of all non-farm workers in the United States are self-employed, an all-time record low.

More than 63,300 manufacturing facilities in the United States have been permanently shut down since 2001

During President Barack Obama's first term, the federal government accumulated more debt than it did under the prior 42 U.S presidents combined

We are seeing the fruit of a largely unrepentant church here in America. A spirit of self-centeredness and self-preservation has engulfed the churches at large and left the many still in their sins, which they are taught God doesn't see anymore once they've 'accepted Christ.'
But our God "changeth not." The Kingdom Principle of absolute obedience to God has never changed and never will. There is a "sowing and reaping" effect that will eternally be True and it always begins with God's people.

"It shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
20 “The Lord will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me."

- Deut 28:15-20

And again -

“The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
45 “Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you."

- Deut 28:43-45

Our current economic condition, as well as the racial tensions and political division in our nation is the direct result of the churches refusing to believe they must repent and walk in righteousness before God. Personally, I blame the church for the bulk of the problems we face in our country today.

Again, we know the answer if we will but humble ourselves -
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." - 2Chron 7:14

Amen.

Yep that's the patterns I was talking about, here in America I do believe church goers are good level headed and humble people but the the whole prosperity movement needs to go, those preachers are too caught up in money and temporary riches, it shows that greed is acceptable and the root of all evil is the love of money.
Greed is the reason we have poverty and poverty equals crime and father absence.
We don't need socialist ideas here either because it never works, it's a problem with sin and we are definitely strangers in a foreign land, the world has become babylon to us but norm for most unbelievers.
We can see in the Facts I posted that we are becoming a weak nation and in decline.

I agree about the Prosperity Gospel movement is making things worse because of greed. When people focus on themselves instead of helping other people then they aren't doing what God wants (for us to love our neighbors).

I heard one man on television this week say that we spend more of paying the debt in this country than we do on national defense.

A good example of greed is with most job sites mainly warehouse. My job working at a cabinet factory was soo harsh, scorching Texas heat and no ac and over crowded cool down areas, machines that needed to be replaced but never were just amped up our stress, and if you got in an accident they would scold you if you decided to go to the hospital and the safety personal would just wrap you up and you would continue working, production was unfair because you would be working multiple jobs that require more hands and you never got a raise either. Then they would hold meetings that would set us back in production times, we worked 12 hour shifts and weekends, the higher ups would get bonuses and raises and at the meetings they tell us how good the company was doing but we did all the work and they worked us like slaves causing a hostile work environment where fights would break out or workers would drink on the job or become alcoholics because they were over stressed.. The supervisors would always find a way to make themselves look good by adding more work and more orders with impossible dead lines... I could never move up in that company because you have to be a soulless cold hearted person.

The so-called "Affordable" Care Act is probably behind at least part of a reduction in the numbers of self-employed. When the cost of medical insurance rockets (as it did, thanks to the ACA) it makes it ever-harder to fund it yourself. And thanks to some of the wrinkles within the ACA it imposes horrendous effective marginal tax rates on people who are anything but wealthy. Only the hardest of the hard-left would propose marginal tax rates of 80% or more even on the wealthiest, and yet the self-employed who make much use of health services can find themselves paying that kind of effective marginal tax rate on incomes way below the median. And then of course there's the glitch when your income just tips over 400% of the federal poverty level, where tax credits drop from potentially $1000+/month to nothing, meaning that unless you can "jump the gap" and increase your income by five figures in a single hit, you're better off just sticking at 390% of the poverty level and hoping you don't get an unexpected bump in your income that could end up costing you dearly.

The level of the national debt is terrifying and the deficits aren't going away. It always used to be that Republicans were more in favor of balancing the books but that seems to have gone out of the window. It looks like the only thing the two parties agree on is that we need ever-more debt. Sooner or later it has to be repaid and when the bond market decides not to play ball things are going to get ugly. You can only borrow from Peter to pay Paul so many times.
