I've made it clear that I'm a life long republican who is no fan of President Trump. However, I also said that if I lived in a swing state I would have held my nose and voted for him. Being in Alabama, it just wasn't worth standing in line for an hour, especially since everyone else on my ballot was unopposed.

Honestly, after denying that last election results, I thought that there was no way he would win the election. I was hoping that Republicans would get a more palatable candidate.

Trump's Team put on a masterclass. They have been registering Republicans in swing states for the last 4 years, they learned from 2020 and starting pushing early voting, and they put Trump on "new media" like Joe Rogan and other podcast and youtube channels. The McDonald's stunt was a thing of beauty. The "they/Them" commercial during NFL games was brilliant.

The choice of J.D. Vance turned out to be a great choice. He did exactly what you want a VP candidate to do. I read one article that said Vance makes a better case from Trumpism than Trump. I agree with that. I watch Vance on Joe Rogan and he was intelligent and funny. Unless something drastic happens, I will support Vance in 2028.

In the end, Trump is right on most of the issues. In particular immigration and "woke" issues. Harris's only argument was that Trump is evil. However, people remember Trump as president and realize he isn't a Nazi/Fascist.

Harris is also the worst candidate in my lifetime. I thought Hillary was bad but she takes the prize. She couldn't answer softball questions, doesn't understand basic policies, her voice is grating and her laugh sounds like something from a horror movie.

I'm worried about Trumps anti-Nato isolationism. However, just giving Ukraine money and missiles is not sustainable. Hopefully, Trump will bring Russia and Ukraine to work toward peace.

Each candidate has pros and cons, but we all need to vote the way it affects our own personal lives. I have friends who don't understand why anyone would vote for Trump. They just can't and I think they even refuse to listen. That's part of the wrongs of our society, people aren't listening anymore to one another.

What are your thoughts on Trump's health to endure 4 years? He looked to me as if he's gained weight and that could affect his heart or maybe he could have a stroke?

It wouldn't shock me if he has health issues or dies within the next 4 years. He is an old man who is already past the median life span of men in the United States. The fact that he is overweight and in an extremely stressful job just increases the chances of major health issues.

I heard a few concerns leading up to the election that he was showing some signs of cognitive decline. It's just hard to know whether it actually means he's showing signs of cognitive decline or if he makes decisions that the urban elite dislike and so they write him off as being incapable.
