Research from the University of Nebraska has resulted in clear advice: Don’t nuke plastics.

Our “just pop it in the microwave” mentality is unleashing hordes of tiny plastic particles — more than 2 billion nanoplastics and 4 million microplastics per square centimeter (almost one-sixth of a square inch), in some cases — the experts found.

Last time I microwaved anything, it was water in a ceramic cup for coffee. That was several weeks ago. The only reason I did that was the usual pot I use on the stove top for boiling water was in need of a clean that couldn't be done in 5 minutes easily.

Other than that, it's probably been at least 5 years since I've used my microwave. It's just used as a clock. I probably should get rid of it.

It could come in handy if you ever need to fashion a makeshift bomb out of whatever Steven Seagal used in Under Siege. Assuming you have whatever he used on hand, and a means of unexpectedly supplying power to the microwave, of course.
