No as I live online about 15 feet above sea level. We have lived in houses with basements with one finished and one unfinished.

I have an unfinished basement. Some people in the area have finished basements but I just use mine as a store and a workshop. Most of my power tools live in the basement, as does one of my workbenches.

My basement is a two bedroom apt. It has: Full kitchen, Full bath (with washer & dryer hookups), living room and dining room. It also has its own deck and entry. I did this for rental income and also for a place where friends that come to visit me can stay. Right now, it has never been rented. One day when I need extra money coming in, I'll list it for rent.
