When you go shopping, does it matter to you when companies remove the word Christmas? Neiman Marcus recently removed the word from their catalog, so this question came to mind.

I honestly don't care.

People get so bothered by terms like "happy holidays" but the simple reality is that there are more holidays than just Christmas. Is it really such a big deal to acknowledge that some people might celebrate Diwali, Hannukah, Kwanzaa etc? It's a bit presumptuous to assume that everybody must celebrate a holiday just because we do.

It bothers me when companies are anti-Christian and do it because they hate Jesus.

How do you differentiate removing mention of Christmas because they hate Jesus, and mentioning holidays in general in recognition of the fact some people celebrate other holidays?

Easy. You look at what the heads of the companies believe and are pushing in the way of their beliefs. Do they post bad things about conservative Christians? Right now in this political madhouse we live in, we can see easily who hates Christians.

So when Neiman Marcus removes "Christmas" from their catalog (presumably keeping the contents of the catalog much the same as before) does that mean they hate Christians, or that they want to be inclusive?

Does it only matter if people dislike conservative Christians? Is it OK if they accept more progressive Christians? And when you refer to "bad things" does that mean disagreeing with more conservative Christian stances, or something more hostile?

I haven't investigated this one. I was just asking a basic question and gave the reason why it came to my mind to ask, because I saw a headline.

To answer your other questions, I think you're just picking and I said what I said because I AM a conservative Christian and I do feel that my group is attacked at times by companies.

I'm not picking, I'm trying to clarify what exactly you're trying to achieve. Sometimes people are attacked, other times their beliefs are teased and mocked, and the two are very different.

Obviously you are free to boycott any company you choose for any reason you choose. I'm not sure I'd be worried about the word "Christmas" disappearing from anything, especially since Jesus never told us to commemorate his birth.

Like when retailers go with "Xmas" instead? Or just simply referring to it as the "holiday season." It doesn't matter to me at all, but I think it's silly to shift away from tradition with something like this.

Like when they used to have a "Christmas catalog" and decide to say winter catalog?

I don't appreciate the removal of Christmas that has been happening the last however many years. What I do reming myself is that this is coming from the secular world. Comes from the kingdom of the world, not the kingdom of God.

... while shopping for seasonal tat?

Seriously, I'm really struggling to understand why it matters that the collection of seasonal tat changes it's name from "Christmas catalog" to "Winter catalog". Especially if it's seasonal tat that arguably lasts beyond December 25.
