If you're married there's no reason why you wouldn't.

If you're not married, be more careful.

My wife and I have accounts in our own names and in our joint names. Most of the accounts in only one name are that way for tax or accounting purposes. We maintain enough in joint names that if anything happened to one of us the other wouldn't run out of money waiting for the slow machinations of estate processing.
