Disney's downplay of reality

I saw a cartoon recently of cute little kid pirates and the sign below said, "A good pirate never takes another person's property!"

Disney is out of touch with reality and of course, that's how it should be since their empire is built on fantasy. But the definition of a pirate is one who attacks and robs.

Is Disney helping or hurting with some of the stuff they send out?

The audience is usually little children.

Yes and some kids will think it is real and that is a problem but isnt it up to the parents to tell their children the difference?

I had a friend who told me he was given a toy for Christmas one year in which the object of the game was to shoot deer silhouettes with an air rifle to gain points. He, being about seven years old at the time, frowned and refused to play because he didn't want to "shoot Bambi." His father became irritated and grumbled about how Walt Disney had "ruined an entire generation of boys."

Since most of us don't have to kill for our food anymore it's easy to imagine children not wanting to hurt all the Bambis in the world.

However, gane is very good to eat. It is hard to make the jump from not wanting to kill a deer and eating steak or pork or chicken
