Did you read that Pennsylvania voted for a dead man? Democrats did that because they don't really care about the man they vote for, they vote the party. The guy died last month. A new special election will be held. God help them.

I heard a commentator note that Democrats and Republicans BOTH have become "straight voters" - meaning they vote their party no matter what. This USED to be common (he claimed) but in the last 50-60 years, both have been more willing to split their ticket but the division in our contry has returned the "vote my party" practice. I guess that applies even if "my party" candidate is dead.

But what has changed (he noted) is we have nearly one-third who now are "INDEPENDENT." Never has that been larger. And while most lean left, they often split their tickets. In some areas (like California or Florida), a party can win by simply appealing to their base, their party. But in most areas, you can't win without pulling in a lot of independents.

Seriously? Who was that?

When I saw your title I wondered if it was a dig at Fetterman but as far as I know he's still alive, even if his capability to function at Senate level so soon after his stroke is debatable.
