Bumper stickers – who doesn’t love them? They are funny, quirky, and allow us to let other motorists in on some fun facts about ourselves. The person in the vehicle behind you knows that your child is above average in academics, plays sports, where you work, when you may be home alone or on vacation, your political views, and that there are five members of your household not including pets. You may be giving away the worst type of information to the wrong people. This post isn't meant to scare anyone, but to make us think about what we're putting out there.

Do you have decals or bumper stickers on your vehicle?

No, partly because of the issues you describe here and partly because I figure it's harder to sell a vehicle if it's adorned with stickers that the new owner dislikes. I wouldn't want to deal with removing a load of stickers from a car, especially since the paint underneath them is likely to be a different tone having not been exposed to the sun like the rest of the car.

I guess there's also the aspect that I don't feel any need to broadcast random things to strangers on the road.
