They have formed an alliance to try to keep Trump from winning outright, what do you think of it?

I think it's irrelevant.

This will be remembered as one of the WEIRDEST primary seasons ever for the Republicans..... we began with a HUGE list, with some of the most impressive candidates ever, several virtually guarenteed to win the general election. But voters were angry and protesting and looking for someone who also was angry and protesting. Trump somehow floated to the top, one-by-one knocking everyone out. He's a dangerous man, a loose-cannon, who only recently even became a Republican and who's views are still largely unknown, and in every poll, he consistently looses against any Democrat. BUT he's an angry, LOUD (and foul) mouthed guy with an ego bigger than Jupiter - and that appeals to some.

Cruz is still hanging in there - but has no way to win. All that keeps him going are those voters who deeply desire to stop Trump but increasingly realize that's not going to happen. Kasich (a man I like) is even more a joke - there's no way he can get the nomination.... and like Cruz, is only still in the game because he won't quit and has enough anyone-but-Trump votes to at least be a candidate - but he's out of money and out of time, with no path to win the nomination.

We're getting Trump. He will loose (in what may be the biggest Republican disaster since 1964, perhaps worse than that) - and may take the House and Senate and a lot of governorships with him. IMO, it may be best for Conservatives to forget the White House and chuck this all up to one WEIRD year. Hilary will have a chance to make the Supreme Court very liberal for decades to come (and we can't do a thing about that). What is, is. Perhaps our best effort is to TRY to limit the damage to the White House and court..... and TRY to keep control of the House and Senate, where we can stop Clinton (or at least offer some control). Pour our efforts into Senate and House races (and several important governor races). Eight years from now, we'll have another shot..... if conservatism survives the Trump attack.

Thank you.

Hi Josiah,

A few things are wrong about your comments. First, Hillary is NOT electable. Second, she very likely will be fighting to stay out of an orange jumpsuit as her latest criminal venture comes back to haunt her. Third, she would not beat Donald Trump.

It is pretty likely that the Repubs will keep both the House & Senate and all the governorships. Over the past couple of elections, the Dems have lost OVER ONE THOUSAND seats (national, state and local) across the nation. This trend probably will not stop any time soon.

Trump will win the presidency and then all good, traditional Americans will have to hope that he does everything he has promised to do, including nominating decent, moral conservatives to the Supreme Court.

As for Cruz and Kasich, they have proven to be nothing more than two balls in the same sac. Both are acting like nuts as they betray their claims to be "outsiders" like Trump. Indeed, they did a "backroom deal" in colluding with each other -- and all this does is expose them as the very type of backroom dealers that they pretend to loathe. This scheme has backfired big time on them and has helped to eliminate Cruz from winning the nomination.

Fear not, President Trump will make America great again and also restore our respect around the world -- virtues that have been purposefully lost by the doofus currently inhabiting the White House.

Hi Josiah,

ANYONE facing Trump is not only electable but elected. I've not seen a single poll - for months - where ANY Democrat (or Socialist) doesn't trump Trump. But yes, there are those who believe these two - both with big negatives - opens the door to an independent (a Ross Parot type), but this late, such would have to be self-funded (meaning a billionaire) and even then, with no groundwork, such would have a tough time. But.... yeah.... in this WEIRD year, it's a possibility.

Third, she would not beat Donald Trump.

As a conservative Republican, it would be my prayer that she does trump him.... But again, I've not seen a single poll that shows Trump even close to Clinton: she'll win in what will likely be the biggest landslide in decades. And yes, Trump may well take down the Republicans in both houses and several governorships as well. In fact, only Kasich beats Clinton in the polls - but there is ZERO chance he'll get the nomination.

Howdy,

My guess is that you do not keep track of many polls because the latest ones show Clinton & Trump only 3 points apart now. And, if you're not real familiar with how the political game works, the polls usually tighten considerably as the election draws near because that is when people begin paying more attention to the individual races. The polls, until then, are essentially meaningless. By the time the election draws really close, Trump will be ahead of Hillary in the polls -- assuming that Hillary is still in the race. She very well might be facing criminal prosecution for her crimes by then.

In such a case, the Dems would probably send Sanders or Biden, or Warren, to replace her on the ballot.

I would also have to question your true conservatism if I understood you correctly to want Hillary to become president over Trump. Did I read that correctly??? Nobody who truly cares about America would want a hardline communist type like Hillary as POTUS, especially with most of the Supreme Court probably hanging in the balance.

And, as I told YOU in the last post, the Democrats have lost OVER ONE THOUSAND SEATS across the nation over the past six years. This trend continues today and it is not very likely that the Repubs, on a national level, would lose control of the House or the Senate. They will NOT lose the House, although the Senate might be somewhat of a close call if the Repubs have more seats up for grabs in this particular election.

And keep in mind that Trump basically has re-activated the Reagan Democrats, who are switching to the Republican party by the THOUSANDS. Also factor in the fact that about 20% of Democrats say they will vote for TRUMP instead of Hillary. In this light, it truly becomes laughable to fear that Hillary would beat Trump. In reality, he would destroy her across the states if she is able to remain on the ballot.

I would highly recommend that you begin watching the Fox News Channel, NewsMax TV and/or listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, etc. They will give you the HONEST polling data and other statistics so that your opinions may not be quite as skewed.

Take care,
Chuck
