(American Family News) Kirk, Turning Point founder, shot during university event
Charlie Kirk, the leader of Turning Point USA, has been shot while talking to students at Utah Valley University. His condition is unknown.

A video posted to X, filmed far away, shows Kirk seated outside in his now-familiar tent talking to hundreds of students. A shot rings out and Kirk is seen slumping to his side.

In a second gruesome video, recorded approximately 15 feet away, Kirk appears to be shot in the neck with a serious loss of blood.

Other video posted to X, from The Blaze, shows an middle-aged white man, who is possibly the shooter, in police custody.

The public affairs division at Turning Point USA has confirmed the shooting but did not disclose his injuries. “We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie,” said Aubrey Laitsch, public relations manager for Turning Point USA. Videos posted to social media show Kirk speaking into a handheld microphone while sitting under a white tent emblazoned with the slogan “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong.” A single shot rings out and Kirk can be seen reaching for his neck with his right hand.

Kirk, 31, is a vocal fan of President Trump and often debates students on hot-button topics such as politics, culture, and religion.

Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012, at the age of 18, to create a conservative student organization.

Alex McFarland of Truth for a New Generation shared a stage with Kirk just two weeks ago. He told AFN the shooting is an example of the only defense the Left has against life and logic. "The Democrats, and they are the party of death, the Democrats do not believe in the sacredness of human life, and since they are unable to argue issues on their own merits, and since their worldview positions are vacuous and destructive, the Democrats and their minions resort to all that the desperate have done throughout history which is try to silence and kill the opponent."

Calls for prayer for Kirk began to immediately flow along social media including from Trump on Truth Social writing, "We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!."

Kir is (was?) a strong defender and proponent of traditional Christian values, traditional American values, conservative political values, freedom of speech and constitutional rights, capitalism, personal responsibility for ones own life, and stood against anti-Christian, anti-Semitism and anti Americans and Anti Constitutionalism.

There are segments of the population whom I'll leave unnamed that will go to any extent to silence him including him (or anyone else) that speak against them including killing if there is no other way.

There are also multitudes of simply crazy people that are easily influenced and persuaded to do this by their rhetoric.

We should find out more soon, but I imagine there are already certain groups that are joyously celebrating his shooting and hoping it was fatal.

This is not God's way, leave vengeance, if any, up to him and him alone.

Possibly, I've heard rumors about trans messages on the cartridges left in the gun nut they don't come from official sources so that could be a false claim.

Interesting though is the timing in relation to his last answers to a question before being shot, at least if the video stuff I saw is accurate and not edited to make it look different than it was.

Interesting.

Could be a misdirection to shift blame elsewhere and misdirect search efforts if done by a really professional sniper, but I doubt it.

Couple of things that are making me withhold a final judgement: One thing is why he/she/it was dressed all in black and wearing aviator glasses. Unless those clothes are found discarded nearby it would seem to be an effort to stand out as much as possible. Another is that the gun was discarded at a different location, even a rank amateur should have known to leave it on the roof so there had to have been a reason to carry it as far as it was before discarding (unless a just plain stupid shooter that didn't think things through which isn't likely). The choice of that old Mauser hunting rifle is also interesting, If it was the one used or not should be obvious by ballistic testing, if it isn't that adds a whole new round of speculation.

And at this point all we really know for certain is that he was killed with a single shot from a distance of several hundred yards, not exactly a spectacular shot for any reasonably experienced hunter or target shooter.

Interesting to speculate about as long it is realized that it is only an amateur speculating. The real law enforcement investigators are the ones that will figure it out for certain, and hopefully soon.

Been too busy to keep up today, was the source official or unofficial and either way how credible does it seem?

FWIW, there were comments by (I think) the roommate that indicated he could have known something was going on that was less than legit.

But it has already been announced that he acted alone even if a lot of things make it look like he didn't.
