I tolerate it after Thanksgiving. I'd like to see it silenced before December 24.
In fairness there's some Christmas music I quite like but most of it is just canned garbage that leaves me endlessly annoyed when out shopping. Maybe this year the coronavirus will give me the excuse I need to not go shopping at all. I hate shopping near Christmas.
There is very little in the way of secular holiday music that I enjoy but I would permit it to be played in the week before Christmas provided that it is balanced song by song by sacred music.
I think the reason a lot of people get sick of Christmas music is because they play the same old same old stuff!!! There are so many other great songs out there that can be played but aren't. It's a shame really.

... and because some of it has nothing to do with Christmas but just happened to be released around the middle of December. I'm thinking of songs like East 17's "Stay another day" that, in England at least, crops up year after year after year.
One store I was in a few years back had something like six songs on endless repeat. I got so sick of it I literally abandoned my shopping cart and walked out. It was pretty well filled, so I pity the poor schmuck who got to figure out it was abandoned and put everything back on the shelves.
One can listen to Christmas music at any time. I don't have much problem with the secular type stuff in December, but it does get old really fast. I prefer the religious ones starting Christmas Day for 12 days. Before that, it is Advent music.
