Hi

Leaders urge Americans to “put aside partisan politics” and pray in the spirit of 1 Timothy 2.

Remember four years ago during the last campaign when Hillary Clinton fell ill with pneumonia? Did Donald Trump call for prayer? No. He mocked her and laughed at her.

Was it Joe Biden calling for prayer now?

One would hope that the same people calling for prayer now would also have prayed for Hillary in 2016.

That is a most interesting question.

The Christian attitude isn't one of "Well, he didn't pray for me so I'm not praying for him." We are to love our neighbors, whether or not they love us. We are to love our neighbors even though we hate things that they might believe in or stand for. We are to pray without ceasing.

Calling for prayer for the President should not have a call of "Well, he didn't pray for ___" So what? You probably prayed when Hillary got sick.

There's nothing wrong in Christians calling for prayer.

Indeed, and we can hope and pray for a human being to make a full recovery from a disease regardless of whether or not we approve of their stances on any particular issues.

As the (Muslim) author of a piece I linked on another thread said when Boris Johnson was critically ill, "Get well soon Boris. I look forward to voting against you at the next election."
