No one comes to the Father except through Me...

By grace through faith is how we know God, what He's done for us and what to expect in the future. He's given us His Word in Holy Scripture so that we grow in wisdom and hopefully don't stray.

You're right, Lamb, but the Bible speaks such words as "know God" to impress on us that we can know him in a deep, loving, personal relationship that is far beyond knowing about him. I'm planning to write a book as a biblical survey about the subject.

God initiates the relationship, God keeps the relationship going, He does most of the work. Any of what we perceive to be a part of the work in a relationship is only because of Him working within us. Our response of love and thanksgiving is true, it's just that we couldn't have any part in doing that if He hadn't shown us who He is.

And worked in our lives with the new birth and the Holy Spirit.
