If you go to a forum and say you believe in the Trinity, but you really don't, do you expect to receive consequences for bearing false witness? Or are these people just happy to troll forums?

What consequences would you expect for posting something on an internet forum?

Are you bearing false witness against a neighbor by saying something about yourself that isn't true?

Bearing false witness is against God.

Perhaps, although the person who doesn't believe in the Trinity may or may not claim to be a Christian at all. If they aren't claiming to be a Christian they probably don't care if something is against God.

There's also the possibility that someone clicked the wrong button, in which case referring to a genuine mistake as "bearing false witness" could arguably be considered to be bearing false witness against the person who made an innocent mistake.

To be honest if I was a non-Christian wanting to troll a Christian board I'd be more inclined to be sure to tick all the right boxes to appear like a fine upstanding member of the community before causing trouble. Maybe that's just me.

No, such people who intentionally do that don't expect any real retaliation, but only see opportunity to slander those who can 'discern' their evil spirit.

It's easy for someone to come to a forum and claim... to be a Christian when they actually are not, and instead foment havoc and chaos against God's Word. Likewise even with some deceived brethren that think... they are following true Christian principles when they have actually succumbed to following doctrines of men, and not God's actual written Word.
