How good is your balance if you try to stand on one leg?

Pretty good.

There's a balance test I saw where you put your shoes and socks on the floor. Then you lift one foot and without putting your foot down you bend over, pick up a sock and put it on, then pick up a shoe and put it on. Repeat with the other foot.

I don't do it with shoes but can usually do it with socks.

My balance has had to be pretty good with the work on the house. Picking my way across beams in confined spaces or carrying bulky things means I need to have a good idea where my feet are, where the floor is (and where it isn't) and how the weight of what I am carrying changes my dynamics.
