I have heard that Australians specifically Melbourne area that they will be lifting some restrictions by May 15. Do you think this is too early to be lifting restrictions or they are doing the right thing and why for which ever side you’re on?

Me personally, I believe yes it’s good that they are lifting some restrictions so people are not locked up in their own houses so to speak. As long as people keep social distancing in mind and keep up with hygiene protocols than that should be okay in my opinion.

On the same token, could it possible be a little too early as we may never know when Coronavirus will truly go away and what other virus might come our way.

So what is your take?

Restrictions need to be lifted!

We can still wear our masks and have safe social distancing and open up businesses. That's something that some people think is an either or...either open up businesses or be safe. That's not true. You can safely open up businesses if you think it through clearly.

My cousin owns a hair salon and is in Georgia in the US and opened her business up this week. She has been on CNN twice now for interviews and is getting emails from all over the world asking for advice because they want to follow her plan! She's clever! She's planned ahead and has reached out to friends and family for disinfecting wipes and gloves and whatever else she needs for her stylists.

If I can go shopping at a grocery store where there are people then I should be able to go into a small shop that sells soaps and lotions because out here there are usually only 2 people in the store anyway when I've gone there...myself and the owner. Bring back the shops! Save the businesses.

Yes! Restrictions need to go before there are no businesses left to open up

Such strict restrictions should never have been applied.

If you are, or are likely to closely associate with, someone who is immune compromised take appropriate precautions (I have family members and dear friends who are elderly and immune compromised, so this isn't just a theory for Someone Else to follow). Aside from that let people make up their own minds. In the past Ive stayed away from visiting close family because they were badly immune compromised and I had a sniffle. I couldn't be sure if it was allergies or the beginning of a cold but, knowing even a common cold could potentially kill this particular family member because their immune system was so suppressed, I stayed away.

My wife and I have very close friends who are in their late 70s and have health issues. Normally I'd stay away from them during a time like this out of respect for their health. The simple reality is that if we get the virus the chances are 99% or better we'll be just fine, but the odds aren't as good for our friends. But when our friends asked how we would feel about visiting them because they were lonely we agreed. We kept a reasonable distance - opposite ends of their kitchen table - but aside from that we chatted and caught up and had a good time. They are grown up - they can decide for themselves what level of risk they want to take - and they know who else they are likely to interact with.

Instead we've got these ridiculous restrictions that make no sense, aren't even consistent and, if anything, expose people to higher levels of risk because they assume Someone Else is doing what is needed to protect them. We've got unemployment levels not seen for generations, businesses shuttered, millions of people left without a paycheck while the unemployment system struggles to keep up, and yet throughout all this the states manage to introduce web sites for people to snitch on each other. Then the governor has the temerity to talk of shared sacrifice and how we're all in this together while he goes home on full pay and doesn't appear to be sacrificing anything. Well, you know, except the livelihoods and financial stability of millions of the people he allegedly represents.

We've also got a tidal wave of fear gripping the nation with people acting as if passing a mere 5 feet from someone else is practically a death sentence.

From most of the statistics I've seen this virus is nothing to be worried about unless you are elderly or have medical conditions. But all we ever hear about is that another 12 people died. This dark shadow is stalking us all, ready to pick us off at random and inflict a horrible death on us all. Except it isn't, but that doesn't sell papers.
