Why are people so ready to mock and laugh at any public post or video that includes the word JESUS in it?
I believe that they are not sincerely against the man Jesus or his message but are against "hypocrites" or so called "so called Christians"...
What do you think about those who associate Christians with "hypocrites"?
Surely they are ignorant of the Word but in their defense there are a lot of christians who are ignorant as well, and these are the ones who give the rest of us a bad rap.
So many Christians are stiff necked and look down, shut down and shut off anyone who they assume isn't christian. This is the same effect of lets say.. a vegan who looks down on somebody eating a hamburger.
I find a lack of decent dialog in these situations as well, it's always...
"I believe that we are the universe experiencing itself subjectively"
"JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN AND WITH OUT HIM YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!!!"....
"bwahahaha take your jebus god nonsense and get a life you psycho hypocrite!"
Something like that.

I find a different approach tho, I will hold a conversation and ask them questions, answer there's and not be afraid to see things from their perspective. I never defend my beliefs with scripture outright with them because they won't believe anything that's in the book, instead I corner them first. Some shut down, some find no fun in pushing my buttons because I don't get upset, learned a lot of that patients from Christianity Haven :). For instance a young man claiming to be from the lost tribe of Israel was convinced that all white people are edomites and are not redeemable for salvation, after we shared scriptures back and forth I asked him "so are you trying to convinced me that God hates me?"... long story short his tone with me changed and he became more at ease and open to discussion... seeing I didn't just shut him off and yell "I PRAY FOR YOUR SOUL REPENT"... Actions speak louder than words.
Do churches ever emphasise on the importance of dialog?
Does anyone know what I am talking about?
Thanks

My church doesn't have a guideline on types of dialog but instead we are encouraged to invite people to join us for worship so they can be fed on God's word for faith. When people mock Jesus they might not be ready to receive Him no matter what we say. Sometimes what we say can push them even further away.

Christians are gonna be mocked until the end of time since the gospel is foolishness to those who don't believe and we have to be prepared for that constant attack that happens and it's gonna happen more and more on social media. What gripes me are the Christians who go to church and then turn around and say something bad about Christianity or laugh at something that they shouldn't and it gives a bad witness because it's showing that they aren't as serious about their faith afterall.

I look for opportunities where I can to share my faith and what i am learning, but I try not to shove a door open that isn't open.

I mentioned Jesus to one of my clients recently quoting a verse and was told that she is Buddhist. But, she didn't have any comment about the verse I shared.
