Goodness matters. For Christians goodness is a high calling connected to union with Jesus Christ. As he is good so he calls us to be good and live a life of goodness. Yet in this world many think "until all men are good we must keep our wits about us and our weapons well oiled". Expedience drives the life of many who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Expedient measures to protect ourselves. Expedient measures to protect our loved ones. Expedience in our politics. And in the end expedience in our religion. Is expedience the right way to live?

Expedient: noun
noun: expedient; plural noun: expedients

1.
a means of attaining an end, especially one that is convenient but considered improper or immoral.

If you're asking us if we need to be immoral to live in this world, then the answer is no.

I am not asking that. I chose my words with some care.

Expedience relates to things immoral...I'm not sure what you're asking then?

If it's easy and convenient but not immoral, then what is the problem? Does it hurt our neighbor or show love? That's what we need to reflect upon.

For Moses to stay at home and not kill the Egyptian and have all the consequences of that action follow probably would have been no more and no less immoral than killing the Egyptian and it would have been expedient I reckon, easy, comfortable, not making waves ... almost like saying "Donald Trump makes some good points" and maybe voting for him.
