More mockery, setting up a characterization of a "conspiracy theorist" to poke fun at.
Some people are very uncomfortable with the idea that entities wielding power of law and force (governments), providers of mass produced and consumed medicines or foods (corporations) would ever knowingly deceive them, cheat them or harm them. They can't stand the idea that News could be faked or fabricated. Or that some television shows and movies are made with mass conditioning in mind.
It's too much for them - so they resort to the kind of mockery displayed in the video. If any conspiracies happen - it's always somewhere else. Nazi Germany, perhaps. North Korea. Saddam hiding WMD. Osama directing world wide terrorism from some dark cave in Afghanistan. Yep, it's always "them". The threat of communism from tiny countries in the Asian Pacific. Now, listen up, good little citizens of the State - it's time to fight communism and kill a bunch of men, women and children. After all, our boat was attacked. See - it's right here in the Newspaper. Gulf of Tonkin. Now, don't care if you're a Christian - the State takes care of that one too. Romans 13. Now, be a good Christian and kill some Asian people. Maybe in a few years(months? weeks?) time the faux Christians can be ordered to go and kill some North Koreans - after all - everyone else is corrupt but us. Crippling sanctions on a country isn't warlike or anything. The outbreak of violence - that's all you'll remember - because All the evil doers are everywhere but here - because to believe anything else is to be a madman like Mel Gibson is in the movie Conspiracy Theory. Your Television and entertainment has so decreed it.
