Getting the back wheel off a bike and back on and fixing a flat tire. I also watched youtube to fix my dish washer, but that guy couldn't even fix it, so I knew I didn't even have to try.

I wouldn't say exclusively from YouTube but from internet sites in general I've learned a few things. Only yesterday I was reading about brazing and attempted my first brazing job afterwards. It was a small job that doesn't come under any particular stress but so far is holding together. The biggest problem was getting everything to stay in place - one hand holds the blowtorch and the other holds the brazing rod, so the two things being brazed together need to be clamped or supported. But they can't be clamped by anything that will melt, because they get heated red hot.

I used a piece of wood to support them. Not ideal, but what I had available. And yes, it caught fire, as I expected it would. But it was small enough that I could just blow out the flame when I was done. I figured that would happen because in the past I've used my blowtorch to char wood that I was making into other things, so have a good idea how long it takes to get a flame and that I can easily just blow out the flame.

It's been a while since I heated something to a cherry red. It's kinda cool to see.
