A kindly heart and love for the needy

There's an old film about Saint Joseph of Cupertino who was a man with very few intellectual gifts yet having a heart for the needy, a deep love of God, and a gentle spirit. He was a Franciscan. His story is quirky like his life and personality yet he worked the works of God among the people of his time. The Film is called St Joseph of Cupertino The Reluctant Saint. It teaches some lessons about serving God well.

One who is naturally empathetic and compassionate is well on there way to being rightly guided.

A blessing indeed, for all, not just the considerate individual.

I often notice goodness and kindness in people who profess no faith at all. It is a pity that some feel that being an atheist somehow disqualifies one from receiving graces to enrich others in this life.

I often notice goodness and kindness in people who profess no faith at all. It is a pity that some feel that being an atheist somehow disqualifies one from receiving graces to enrich others in this life.

What's worse is the regarding such as doomed to eternal damnation due to unbelief. Many of these people are not lost as one might think. Some are in honest ignorance and will be judged by their works which are good. Others are actually faithful to some extent being closet deists; not understanding the particulars and as such deeming GOD to be uncaring towards creation and not involved in it. That being said; I find many self proclaimed saved people to possibly be in much worse shape than these (in some cases) morally good, honest, caring people, as we both know that the more you know, the higher the accountability. These people in many cases are exceedingly bright and haven't been clouded by the indoctrination of man. This makes for an outstanding and strong slate or foundation, being able to easily decipher nonsense from truth in many cases.

Don't get me wrong; few seem actually quite hell bent, but by no means all.

It is both dangerous and presumptuous to deem any man or woman doomed to hell on no better foundation than one's opinion of how wicked one presumes them to be.
