Garage/yard sales are popular where I live. Do you enjoy going to them? What's the best item you've bought?

I used to really love garage sales and got most of my knitting needles from them! Needles can be expensive, but I got them for a nickel or a dime a set.

We had a flood in our town many years ago, and I saw people out picking through the trash that was on the parkway, things that had waste water all over them!! My mom said it was so they could resell things at the rummage sales. So gross. Since then I refuse to buy at rummage sales.

I've been to a few of them but most of the time it seems either the prices are so high you might as well buy new, or what's for sale is mostly junk.

That said I have picked up a few curiosities at sales. I have a couple of very old PO box doors. Some day I plan to make them into a coin bank. I just didn't get there yet, that's one of a thousand future projects.

No, I don't go to them.
