Fahrenheit 451 is it's name. Taken from a story by a science fiction writer named Ray Bradbury the story was first published in 1953 and the film was made in 1966. Ray Bradbury wrote it during the McCarthy era in the USA - a time when ideas were ruthlessly investigated any anything that did not meet the anti-communist standards of senator Joseph McCarthy were even more ruthlessly ferreted out and destroyed. Many people lost their freedom, their careers, and some lost their lives during that time. There may be a lesson to learn from both the history of the time and the story in the book & video. I hope you enjoy watching it.
