Once upon a , time, Christian Forums was HUGE and famous for being an open community where people could pursue truth in a respectful and unhindered way. Back with Erwin built that site and was the Admin. Then his practice demanded all his time, and in that leadership void, came those eager to control. A war began.
In the midst of that war, MANY good staff (right to the top) became victims as the "front" moved back and forth. Several of us here at CF are victims of that.
Some chose to begin their own websites. Virtual repeats of what Erwin did. Open, respectful, non-political, with few and intuitive rules - evangelically applied, where we could pursue truth. I actually joined at least 10 of these! But none of them got off the ground and to my knowledge none are around today
ChristianityHaven is the last of these that I know of. And when I first came here (at the invite of Lamm), I was not optimistic this one would be any different, especially since the "field" had become very crowded with LOTS of competition (which Erwin didn't have to deal with when he started CF). AND I had seen SO many sites like this START right but quickly go down the same road that CF did, with more and more politics and bias, more and more rules and heavy-handed arbitration (often arbitrary). OR sites become "milktoast" "Mr.Rogers" relitivistic, emotional fluff. Would CH avoid this?
I cannot express enough my joy that CH has. And has thrived. While I should give the credit to God (lol), I give it mostly to Lamm and to Romanos. And to the staff (I single out Tango but really all the staff). And to generally, a really good bunch of posters. This is the best such site on the 'net. And I am so thankful.
