I saw a parking lot where it said “head-in-only”.

Why would they care how people park their cars, tail in or head in?

The company my husband works for prefers the employees back into the parking spots for safety reasons. When it's time to go home, the belief is that there will be less accidents.

Now to park head in first, to me that means that license plates need to be read by someone? Not all states require plates in the front and the back.

Two reasons, IMO....

1. MOST cars have less overhang (the distance from the wheels to the end of the car) in the front than in back, thus it's less likely to over-extend if parked forward.

2. MOST park more accurately if they are driving forward, thus more likely to stay within the space and to part straight.
