    Had to turn on the furnace!

    Every year my husband wants to make it until November until we turn on the furnace, but I think we only made it that far one time. I turned the heat on last night, but only to 60...and he got up and had to turn it up even higher because it was so cold. I'm glad I wasn't the only cold one :D

    Retaining wall or tiers for a slope?

    Anyone have any words of wisdom on building a proper retaining wall? We have a slope in the front and I'd like to do tiers so I can step up. It's not a wide spot, and there are bushes already there, so I have to work around them.

    Does anyone use Duolingo to learn foreign languages? I had forgotten that I had started using it when I first got my laptop, but then stopped because none of my Spanish speaking friends would speak Spanish with me. It's hard to retain what you learn if you don't use it.

    If you're on the side of the world that is in Autumn right now, what kind of activities do you have planned for the season? Today one of my best friends is driving 2 hours to join me at a local attraction where there are gardens, fountains and fall decorations. We'll have a great time!

    I went outside a few moments ago to see if I could see any meteors. I caught one out of the corner of my eye and I get so happy when I can catch one at all! I'm not staying up until 2am to watch them though. Who else is watching?

    When moving to another state

    Under deck ceiling or gutter system?

    Does anyone have a deck and has put in a ceiling underneath or some type of gutter system? We had some heavy rains tonight and wow, underneath the deck has washed out part of the dirt and I'd like to figure out a good way to stop that...that isn't too expensive.
